What is Acai?
The Acai (pronounced Ah-sah-ee) Palm grows in tropical Central and South America, mainly in the floodplains and wetlands. It produces a crop of berries twice per year. The fruit deteriorates rapidly after harvest; therefore, outside of the tree’s growing region, the fruit is generally only available as juice or fruit pulp that has been frozen or dried, preserving the high ORAC* antioxidant value of the Acai fruit.
The dense pigmentation of Acai is from its high antioxidant phytonutrients (flavonoid polyphenols) which give the berries their deep color. Unlike most other berries, the antioxidant power of Acai quenches both water soluble and fat soluble free radicals. In addition, antioxidant testing of properly dried Acai powder shows both an extremely high and a long lasting antioxidant effect.
*ORAC, short for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, measures the total Antioxidant Power of foods. Antioxidants disarm oxygen free radicals. These free radicals harm healthy cells, accelerating aging throughout the body. The more harmful free radicals a food can absorb, the higher its Antioxidant Power and ORAC score.

Directions
Just add 1 packet to approximately 8 fluid ounces of cold bottled water or juice. Or add 2 packets to 16 fluid ounces of water or juice. To prevent overflow, create space for the juice powders by drinking a swallow or two from the bottle first.
